The aim of any group is to provide a friendly way to learn more about a subject and to enjoy the company of like-minded people. The emphasis is always on having a good time! Groups usually meet during the daytime and may be educational, cultural, physical, or recreational. In addition, there are also branch social activities, for example talks and lunches.
Once you have joined Westbury u3a and paid your yearly subscription, you are eligible to join as many groups as you choose. Some groups may make a small charge for their meetings or activities. The meetings are held in members' homes, at various locations in and around Westbury, or further afield, depending on the activity.
If there is a subject you are interested in which does not appear on the list, do please think about starting a Starting a New Group new group. Ideas and volunteers for starting new groups are always very welcome! New members may find the FAQs about Interest Groups useful.
